Day 36 – February 5 2010 – food day 127 calzone
My sister and I stopped by this place called Pockets, after she picked me up from the train. We had planned on making chicken wings but it was too late to marinate and get them all ready so we decided to make them for lunch the next day. This place was really good, and apparently very popular with the Chicago PD. There were 3 tables of them when we walked in and 2 more undercover cops came in after us!
Day 30 – January 30 2010 – Food day 121 Chocolate Malt at a Mickey’s Dinner (Very Famous Diner)
Mickey’s Diner (Picture to come) was in many movies, most recognizably Mighty Ducks I, II, III. Last time I was in the twin Cities to see my boyfriend he mentioned it to me and I was like ooooooo. So this time we were planning on venturing into St. Paul for the Winter Carnival, so I said Lets go to Mickeys Diner. It was great!! The food and atmosphere were so much fun! The whole experience was a blast and I’d love to go back again!! Check it out if your around, stop in for a malt, or one of their special sandwiches!
Day 29 – January 29 2010 – Food day 120 Quick appetizersbefore seeing Avatar
Day 26 – January 26 2010 – Food day 117 Shepherds Pie at brocach Irish Pub
Day 8 – January 8 2010 – Food day 99 Dinner at the Bayou and a review
I went to the Bayou (117 South Butler Street Madison) with a friend tonight. I had never been there and neither had he. We both ordered Po-Boys, mine shrimp and his catfish (i think) He also ordered the Jambalaya ( I think now I’m getting it confused with Gumbo) but it had rice in it and was pretty good. Overall the meal was good. The waitress screwed up and gave me my Po-Boy dressed (with shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles and red onion) when I asked for it Naked (plain) and gave me normal fries instead of sweet Potato Fries. It wasn’t all that busy but apparently a couple at a nearby table ordered the exact same thing as we did except her’s was dressed and mine wasn’t, hence the screw up. The drinks (we both had a beer) were served in plastic glasses, which when you expect to lift up a slightly heavier glass to drink could be dangerously messy!
Overall it was a decent experience, with a great atmosphere, and good food! I think I’d go back!!
Day 333 November 29 2009 food day 58 Breakfast at Lazy Janes
Day 318 November 15 2009 food day 45 Pumpkin Pancakes at The Good Earth
On Sunday morning I went to brunch with 1/2 of my college roommates and their boyfriends. Since one of the girls had to work after brunch we went to a restaurant near her work. The Good Earth is a locally grown, locally owned organic restaurant. I had the Pumpkin Pancakes, which were a fall special. They were AMAZING!! 4 pancakes topped with applesauce and Craisins. WOW!! Typically I wouldn’t go to a organic restaurant they tend to be more expensive, but this was pretty good, although the service was slow.
Day 317 November 14 2009 food day 44 Ruby Tuesday’s Bacon Cheeseburger

My boyfriend and I frequently go to Ruby Tuesday’s. He loves the salad bar and their mini hamburgers. This time I decided to mix it up a bit and get a REAL hamburger. I had the bacon cheese burger. It was pretty good, although not perfect. The amount of bacon and cheese on one side of the burger was twice that of the other, which made my 2nd half of the burger quite boring.
