Run Run run, an update.

At the end of October, I posted that I was setting a goal of running 150 miles by the end of 2011. Well, if you add my total miles from when I started to use dailymile, I’m at 144 miles, VERY CLOSE! As just 2011, I have 11 miles left before I make it to 100. I’m going to set a higher goal for next year, and maybe some other workout related goals. I see so many of my friends making goals of laps they want to swim, and miles biked, etc. I’m not much of a lap swimmer; I enjoy swimming, but have always been the one who stops constantly while swimming. Well in a week I will set my goals for 2012. We shall see what happens then! Hopefully I can make those 11 miles before the new year, will be a little hard with going back to Madison on Friday, but I do have next week too!

Day 306 – November 2 2010 Voting Day

Unlike many of my acquaintances, I’m not going to sit here and rant and rave over the election. Yes, I’m not happy about the results.. but I voted, and I did everything I could to get the people elected that I believe should be. I really hate that I live in how every many miles you choose that day, surrounded by reality! I love how Madison politics usually are, but in reality we live in a fairly Red State. Mostly due to the rural areas that don’t have the same views, perspective or cares of the Madison and Milwaukee areas.

I said I wasn’t going to rant and I’m not. I sure hope YOU voted!

Day 303 – October 30 2010 Day of the Ghoulish Gallop

Today Joe and I ran our first 5k. Joe finished with a time of 34:18. Which wasn’t great for him but I think it was fabulous! I finished with a time of 40:34! That was better than my practice run, even though I thought I was going really really really slowly because I had a really hard time breathing due to the cold air. I had never run with such vigor, although I did walk quite a bit. I only finished 10 minutes before the last person in the 5k. Which is kinda sucky and embarrassing but for my first one I think thats great. Especially because 3 months ago I had never run in my life. I’m really proud of my self and plan to keep going, till I can run much further and faster!

There was this little man with a van sitting in a parking lot selling Bonsai Plants. There were quite a few of them, Something I hadn’t seen there before. I had missed it but moments before he and someone else were sitting in lawn chairs working on the plants. The Bonsai man and this women spent quite a while choosing the best one for her!
