Blue moon ice cream is a very local thing. It is found mainly in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. It’s has the same attraction as Bubble Gum Ice cream does for little kids. My friends and I got a tub of it this spring after a heated discussion trying to remember what it tasted like.

Today it hit digits in the upper 90’s, with a heat index in the 100’s! My car registered 105 on my drive home from work. Normally this doesn’t happen in Wisconsin. Last year I was told it didn’t hit 90 degrees till August. It’s pretty miserable for us. Last year(Winter of 2007-2008) we had over 100 inches of snow… it’s almost as if we get used to it. This week with temperatures in the 90’s is a real shock to the system. Unfortunately I play softball Monday and Tuesday nights and this week it’s been brutal! I have waited as long as possible in my air conditioned car before going out to run around and stand in the outfield doing nothing for an hour. So tonight after running around like a crazy women, and loosing to the Essen Haus Liebchens, I rushed home for some much needed comfort, a cone of Cookies and Cream ice cream. As I sat on the screen porch under the wonderful fan, it started melting.. and melted FAST!
